Dunbar, who travels to the American Frontier to find a military post. Unbeknownst to him, the inappropriate outpost is uninhabited and woebeg atomic number 53 and the soldier becomes isolated at his assigned location for a significant amount of time. He decides to go against cultural norms and explore out companionship from the inhabit Indian Sioux tribe, despite the setting that it would be unconventional. Eventu entirelyy, the Lieutenant establishes a bond with the Indians, adapts their customs as his own, and is ultimately made an unearned member of the tribe. In the end, Dunbar proves that his deference lies with his new Indian family and is thereof dubbed a traitor by his comrades and sought out for execution.
