THE PERSIAN WARS The Iranians started out as a small confederacy of tribes in what we now call Iran. They built their imperium by check their neighbors. Persia was the largest empire in the world. Its kings command everyplace Africa, Middleeast, and Asia. In the cds B.C.E., the Persian wars began. The classical city-states did not select as much land or people as Persia. The classical soldiers were much smaller in size than the Persian soldiers. The save way they had a chance was for the Greek city-states to anchor multitude together. The Persian army had soldiers that fought with arrows. These were called archers. They would shoot a ton of arrows in the first place the enemy could get close ample to use their spears. Darius commanded them to give him presents of soil and water and sent messengers to learn this request. This would show the Greeks willingness to be ruled by Persia.
